Carradale village is located on the east side of the Kintyre peninsula in Argyll and by road is 25 miles south of Tarbert. At Kennacraig, just 5 miles south of Tarbert, turn left on to the B8001 (signposted Skipness and Carradale) and then at Claonaig turn right along the B842. Follow this road for another 18 miles to Carradale then turn left along the B879 for another mile and a half towards the village and harbour. From Kennacraig the road is mostly single track and also follows the route of National Cycle Route 78.
Alternatively, a longer route is by taking the A83 to Campbeltown (38 miles) and on immediate entry to the town turn left at the B842 and follow this road for 16 miles to Carradale.
